Auto Additive Ships First Order of 3D Printed Weldable Headlight Tabs

Chicago, IL – 08.01.24 – Auto Additive is thrilled to announce the shipment of its first order of weldable headlight tabs to one of its founding partners, Headlights.com, as it prepares a go-to-market strategy for later in the year.

This milestone marks a significant achievement in the automotive repair industry, showcasing the potential of 3D printing technology to revolutionize repair solutions. The journey to this point has been driven by relentless innovation and collaboration. The development of these weldable headlight tabs has only been made possible due to recent advancements in 3D printing technology and the evolution of 3D-printed OEM-compatible polypropylene material.

“This 3D printed material and process that is in line with GM’s  GMW18647 worldwide standards  provides the durability and compatibility needed for high-quality automotive repairs, ensuring that the new tabs meet or exceed current industry practices for repairing headlight tabs, such as using two-part epoxy, industrial-grade welding rods, shaping putty, or low-grade printed parts.”

We extend our heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to our supporting partners, HP and Forecast 3D, whose collaboration and expertise have been instrumental in reaching this milestone. Their contributions to advancing 3D printing technology have paved the way for innovations like these weldable headlight tabs.

Auto Additive’s weldable headlight tabs are a testament to what can be achieved through testing, collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to excellence. As we continue to push the boundaries of what is possible in the collision repair industry, we look forward to many more milestones and breakthroughs, including the launch of these parts to the broader market by Auto Additive’s customers in November 24.
